Sporting News reports that Dennis Dixon did enough Sunday night to prove he can be the Steelers #2 quarterback:

Steelers second year quarterback Dennis Dixon, who threw for one touchdown and ran 24 yards for another in his first NFL start, likely convinced the coaches he can be the No. 2 quarterback behind Ben Roethlisberger. A 2008 fifth-round pick, Dixon had been the third QB behind veteran Charlie Batch but started Sunday night and he impressed the coaches with his poise and calm in the pocket. Batch (broken left wrist) is not expected back for another three weeks, but he is a free agent and probably won’t be re-signed.
