Kicker Shaun Suisham the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week

Wide receiver REGGIE WAYNE of the Indianapolis Colts, defensive tackle RANDY STARKS of the Miami Dolphins and kicker SHAUN SUISHAM of the Pittsburgh Steelers are the AFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for games played the fifth week of the 2012 season (October 4, 7-8), the NFL announced today.


  • ·         Suisham connected on all three field goals, including a game-winning 34-yard field goal as time expired in the Steelers’ 16-14 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
  • ·         Registered his fifth career game-winning field goal and third as a Steeler.
  • ·         Helped Pittsburgh register its fifth consecutive win at home.
  • ·         Through Week 5, Suisham has made all eight field goals.
  • ·         In his eighth season from Bowling Green, this is Suisham’s second career Special Teams Player of the Week Award. He previously won the award in 2007 (Week 9) with the Washington Redskins.
