It is a buisness after all so why not get more out of the recent Super Bowl MVP. They should’ve waited another week and seen what opened up or see who starts looking for a WR seriously. WTF

After what he said about “not being paid his worth” after this season, I am not sad to see him go. Its going to be business as usual in Pittsburgh without Holmes. It is too bad that it ended this way, but the team does things a certain way and this is that way! Wallace,Ward,Miller,Randle-El,Battle, and Sweed can provide what we need to fill this hole.

Im a little skeptical. Ward- getting old. Wallace- shows promise but is still young. Miller is the man but some reson this year everytime he caught the ball he went down instantly. Randle EL- Idk what to expect out of him. I dont think hes much more than a 4. Battle- same as Randle El. Sweed- this is going to be his absolute last shot. He gets open for a reason right? So if he can catch the ball then he might not be a complete and utter bust. Overall im nerveous without Holmes.

Although, I will remain optimistic. With Ben under center the Steelers are never out of any game. In fact, I dont really remember the Steelers ever being crushed during the game on the score board. Maybe except against the Pats a few years back… but I make this point all the time. Super QBs win SuperBowls and guess what? We have one hell of a qb. Take a look at the past few years at the qbs to win th sb. Manning bros, Brees, Brady and Ben. The best qbs in the league go to the superbowl consistantly. Its a quarterback driven league and when you have won as good as Big Ben, you hold on to him.

It’s about time, Roethlisberger is next. Remember when the Steelers would cut ties with criminals right away? I thought they might have tried to ship Ben and Santonio to the Bengals for Carson Palmer and Andre Caldwell. They would look good in stripes. The Steelers need Wallace to step into the void left by Holmes, Twaan proved to be a poor excuse for a #1 receiver in DC, but he should be servicable in the slot. This was a good move for the Steelers franchise.

Dont be surprised if Wallace remains entrenched at #3, while El,Battle and Sweed duke it out for #2. Ward/Randle-El was a tandem that won a title in 2005, so they may be comfortable in this role. Wallace is a stud #3 and could certainly move to #2 if thats the plan. Should the team make good on the idea of running more, then it should NOT matter who is #2 or #3, they have talent at both positions to choose from. Ben is lightyears better than Jason Campbell, and has a familiarity with El. Maybe El has a #2 spot left in him after all?

If I were Godell i would leave it up to the Rooneys to discipline Ben. I would not suspend Ben for any games, however I would slap him with a fine for about a million plus and then put him on probation. If Ben gets into anymore trouble then suspend him. As for these typical Pittsbburgh idiot pollacks saying we should trade Ben is simply erroneous. Like you say this is a business, and a business is not going to get rid of their largest client. Keep in mind winning changes the public view on everything. It is a shame though because I felt that Ben was on the verge on becoming an american superstar such as Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.

I am not at all Suprised or upset that Holmes was traded. He was trouble and was going to be gone in a year anyway (since he reportedly wants a big deal).

I do think that the Steelers could have got more than a 5th round pick if they had had a little more patience. I think a 3rd or high 4th would have been closer to value since he is young and a former Super Bowl MVP.

Think of it this way -> Dez Bryant is trouble (maybee not quite as much as Santonio) and he will go in the 1st round of this years draft.
