Steelers Overcome; Top Colts on Final Play Field Goal 20-17 to Move to 7-2

1. Better to Be Lucky Than Good

They looked like they were flat, had rust, and didn’t look prepared as the Colts jumped out to a 14-point lead after the first drive of the third quarter, but the Steelers found a way, and unlike so many times in the past against teams with not-so-good records, they got a huge win.

The second half was a complete turnaround, with Ben Roethlisberger going from a 33 rating in the first half to a 97 in the second, and the defense didn’t give up any more big plays after allowing two long TD’s of 60 and 61 yards to give the Colts the lead.

In a season where you have visions of a Super Bowl run, there’s going to be games like this, and for the Steelers, it wasn’t an effort that is going to draw many praises, but at the same time, this is an effort where they didn’t play their best, but got a win to stay at the top spot of the AFC.

This team wants a bye and homefield, and winning a game where they didn’t look their best could end up going a long way in getting that. Now with 5 of their next 7 at home, things are set up pretty well for this team.
