Steelers Sitting Holmes Sunday

Holmes

Taking action for his being pulled over and being cited for having possession for marijuana in his car, the Steelers have decided to take quick action and sit WR Santonio Holmes for the game Sunday vs the Giants. “His situation has created somewhat of a distraction,” said head coach Mike Tomlin. “We want to minimize that as much as we can and remain focused on the task at hand which is to compete and play against the New York Giants on Sunday. That is where we are at this point. We don’t have a great deal of information. We choose to address it as an organization and football team on Monday.”

Holmes has yet to be suspended by the league or team, but the team has instead decided to make him inactive for the contest. The team will instead start Nate Washington, who has had a good season, in his place. “I don’t have a great deal of information and this is the direction I choose to go,” Tomlin said. “I choose to remain solely focused on what we have in front of us this weekend as a football team. That decision was made with that in mind.”

Second-round pick Limas Sweed and Dallas Baker will play in the game with Holmes sitting on the sidelines.

I just love it…The invasion of bad morals and unaccountability running rampant like a (tropical) disease or virus through society. Take me (or any of us for that matter—hey, us shrinking lower middle class plebians are all the same, aren’t we?) I get up and go to work every day for 22,500 a year…Woo-hoo, ramen noodles and up all night with cable (because I can’t afford to fucking go out). I work with 1% of the population (schizophrenics). My wife is in a similar field and she just can’t be assertive enough with her bosses who keep shorting her check. See, she just got a promotion and a raise—together now we can afford the PREMIUM cable package…ooohhh! I had to call her incompetent company and yell at them for being maladroit in payroll. But I can because I’m abrasive that way and it is, nonetheless, a different topic altogether. Anyway, my pathetic existence had a highlight as I scored a 1030 on the GREs so I now will probably get into grad school for sports management—Yeahhhh! I do have other hobbies and interests and actually engage in them but there is something about getting out of work on a Friday at this time of year and knowing that besides the weekend, we have our team(s) to look forward to. These millionaires (for the most part) don’t have financial worries and, although engaged in a violent profession, seemingly have the world by the nuts if ya know what I mean. I just love when they show zero respect for their craft or their fans and have things like pot and drugs on them! It’s…awesome! I mean, I used to have pot and drugs on me too but the only one counting on me at the time was a haggard old chef of a pub who only expected me to not pass out in the deep fryers. But I (supposedly) grew up. I guess I was expecting way too much of the pro athlete to take things a little more seriously with millions of fans relying on them before we menially crawl back to the laboriousness of monday through Friday. Oh, the Colin Cowherd’s of the world will say that cold climate fans don’t have things in perspective because all we do is sit around and watch our teams and thus perpetuate a fanatical mindset and aura in lieu of rational support of our respective teams. last I checked, Colin Cowherd couldn’t manage a marriage so fuck him. I gave up drinking because it made my life unmanageable. I gave up nicotine as well and switched to diet soda for fuck’s sake. If this sounds like woe is me, it IS! Initially all I wanted in the stead of my hobbies were athletes who were good. Now my rallying cry is just say no, man! Just say no!
