If these allegations turn out to be true , send him packing . Hes supposed to be a mentor and a teacher to these younger players . If thats the best example he can provide then Im sorry Joey , your services are no longer needed .

Another tomlin unbuttoned coach or situation that is an embarrassment. I hate the guy, I’ll admit it. But more people should listen to the herd…Some knucklehead Pittsburgh homer media people want to vilify him for speaking the truth. herd ain’t saying Tomlin a bad coach…he is saying he’s not a great coach and should NOT BE ABOVE BEING CRITICIZED based on his unassuming credentials considering he has Big ben. I am not a big ben hater, but I definitely raise serious brows at WHY WHY WHY he seems to HAVE to be EITHER a slinger or conventional?!?! WHY can he not KNOW WHEN it is time to make a play and WHEN it is TIME to THROW IT AWAY. ALL other “elite” quarterbacks possess this seeming BASIC awareness set. Tomlin never should have had him in late in the game against Miami. Why does a BELICHICK coach not get in trouble, yet Tomlin players AND NOW COACHES are getting in trouble?!? Tomlin lets people do what they want and it’s evident and obvious. Cowherd ain’t saying Tomlin should be fired…I AM!!!! And if not fired (which will never happen by the way), then please allow him to be held to same standard as other coaches who would GEY MURDERED in the court of public opinion if they did some of the things this clown tomlin does! Yeah, he has this many wins and that many super bowl appearances but since he’s been playing with mainly his toys (and not another coach’s) his performance stats have WANED considerably. Injuries notwithstanding (everyone gets injured), he can barely outcome an opposing coach…oh yeah, he’ll out-cheerlead another coach, but preparedness against lesser competition…give me a break. why was big ben in the game running a pass play. like mark madden says, what is the upside of leaving him in?

Jay , As far as leaving Ben in the game , I stated in a reply to BB’S post , that it was pure stupidity on Tomlins part to have him in the game and it most definitely was . You take Ben , LeVeon and Antonio out completely in a meaningless last game against Cleveland a week earlier . Why ? To keep them from harms way . Then a week later , with the game decided late in the fourth quarter , you have Ben on the field and Todd Haley calling pass plays ? How stupid can you be ? If that sack on Ben had caused a severe injury the Steelers season is over , period . Youre not going into Kansas City with Landry Jones as the starter and win that game . It wont happen . This is why Terry Bradshaw made the comments he made about Tomlin and yes I did see the Colin Cowherd segment on Tomlin as well . They’re both right . Tomlin is an average coach , hes not a great coach and I agree with Bradshaw completely . Should Ben have thrown the ball away and just go down ? Absolutely . He was trying to make a play when theyre was no play to be made , because thats who Ben is . He’ll make you cheer one minute and cry like a baby the next minute . At the end of the day I look at the whole body of work going back to his rookie season in 2004 . Three Super Bowl appearances , two wins and Im two games away from a fourth trip . I’ll take those odds everyday .
