Steelers Back to the Basics, Run Past Atlanta 41-17 to Improve to 2-2-1; Three Takeaways

1. Finally Running the Rock

James Conner, who had gone backwards since the season opener against the Browns, finally came out of his shell, and it started with a fantastic opening drive in which they gave him the ball a whole bunch.

The opening drive began with Conner going for for 72 of 78 yards, ending it off with a one-yard touchdown run. He also had a 29-yard catch-and-run, which showed his ability again to break through tackles.

The numbers for Conner were outstanding, rushing for 110 yards, a 5.2 yards per carry average, and he also pulled in four grabs for 75 yards.

Again credit the O-line up front for opening the holes, but this day Conner looked..wait for it…Levon like in the huge win.
